Hello everyone, so let me explain what happened these past 2 years of having the truck.
First off I'd like to say I love the truck so far but over the first 9 months of having the truck I noticed that the passenger side tire had gone bald on the outer edge of the tire.
No problem I called the dealer and they told me if I live in a cul de sac home where I make excessive turns , and I responded with no and it shouldnt matter, but whatever they replaced it no charge.
Fast forward another 10 months and the passenger side tire is doing it again!
Obviously the alignment is off.
So I take it in once again, and I get a call 2 days later (Today) and they tell me that they will be charging me for an
Alignment - $100
2 tires - $380
I'm extremely upset and they're telling me that I must've went over a pothole really hard.
What? It's a truck!
And no I haven't taken it offroading
I daily drive it to work and back and that's it!
Someone please enlighten me on what exactly I should do.
I'm really thinking about just turning this lease in.

If the wear is even and only on one edge of the tire then it's an alignment issue. Being that it's a 2015 you wouldn't think that it's alignment time yet. However, it really doesn't take much to knock the camber or toe out of whack. Yet, you can go drive up ten miles of washboard and gully roads and not have one problem. Go figure.
I'm not saying that you did or didn't hit something but the front end guy can only go by what is presented to him when he inspects the vehicle. Hopefully at least they printed out the before and after specs of the alignment for you.
I don't know what you got for a warranty but usually the initial bumper to bumper doesn't cover wear or adjustable maintenance items such as alignment. That's only because they can't control where or how the vehicle is driven.
Now if you can determine that the alignment was never set properly at the factory or that something may have been left loose then perhaps you can go up the ladder to GM. It's been my experience that these GM trucks tend to hold their alignments quite well.

So I ended up just calling GM directly and was very surprised to learn that the stealership had lied to me about my warranty being expired and in the Service Managers words : "Trust me I have checked your warranty and this is not covered"
While the representative I spoke to told me that it's still under bumper to bumper warranty and reassured me that she would call and take care of this and that nothing would be out of pocket EXCEPT the tires that are not covered.
Oh Great!
So because of a faulty alignment from the factory, I have to pay for 2 tires
Just great!
I've never had this problem with any of the past 5 leased cars ive had.
I love GM trucks but man this was definitely a downer.
Thanks for any your input guys.

How many miles?? 30k or more you've got the life out of your tires.

First question is did you rotate?

Secondly, TAKE IT SOMEWHERE ELSE!! 2 days, seriously?? I'd have a customer for 2 tires and an alignment OTD in no more than an hour and a half. Speed (and other shops lack of) is where we make our money.

Currently only at 17,8xx miles
Rotated at a little over 8k miles.
I go to my local Southern California dealer and there is a ton of cars in the service bay and maybe that's why it took 2 days plus today which will now be 3 days but either way I believe that it shouldnt take that long.
Just smh at this point

Considering that low of mileage and now requiring a 3rd tire, yeah, that's excessive. I don't blame you there, I'd push for tires and align for no charge as well.

I'd imagine that a new rig like this is equipped with 60K mile tires. Based on this assumption, you should be barely 1/3 of the way through the life of the tires. At the most, you could be on the hook for 1/4 to 1/3 of the tire cost, because you've technically depreciated off that much of the tires according to the odometer. However, since they've tried to put the screws to you for the alignment and the tires by lying about your warranty, this has turned into a matter of ethics and good/bad business practices and you shouldn't pay a dime. It's now just a matter of getting in front of the right person at the dealership and posing this to him/her with the right words.

So I got more bad news today!
I called GM directly again to see what was going on and now they tell me the alignment is wear & tear and that the service manager was right. I now have to pay out of pocket for all costs
But all is ok because I get a measly DISCOUNT!!! Lol!
I'm in disbelief right now.
This is definitely the final straw now
Oh P.S. I also forgot to mention they informed me that my driver side tire has a nail!
I feel that they planted it there, my tpms never informed of a drop in PSI!
I always routinely check my tires because of the alignment issue and never seen any nail before.
So anyway i told them don't worry about it, I'll get it patched elsewhere.
So they reply with :
"Sorry Sir but it's irreparable because it's in the sidewall"
Uhhhgggg
I don't think ive ever been this upset over something in a very long time.
