what state do you live in? do you know if there illegal in NY

If your in NY, odds are your gonna get snow and salt on the roads. How do these things work when they get rusty? Snow won't be a problem per say, it'll melt. It's the rust on the mechanism that I"d be worried about. Might work for the first summer, but after a winter will they work again?
