whats up guys,
i plan on getting a corsa sport exhaust, an airaid jr intake and a bb tune. i just dont have the funds to do it all at once. i was thinking on getting the intake first till i can shed the cash for the exhaust then the tune.
so i wanted to know if there will be any negatives effects on running the intake for a while on stock tune, then the exhaust on the stock tune till i can get the bb tune done. thanks for the help

That's the order I did mine in....first the GMPP CAI, then a few months later the Corsa Sport exhaust, and finally an in person tune in the spring. I saw a slight decrease in MPG til I got my tune done but nothing to worry about-you should be fine IMO

Intakes don't really give you gains. Keep your stock air box, use a hole saw and Swiss cheese the bottom and get a air raid tube. Or make your own tube.

And no. No negative issues with running either.

Exhaust provides little to no performance value. If you are only looking at those mods, I would get an intake then a tune, as you will need to be tuned for the intake to take full advantage.

Jenna, dont forget he is NBS with 2 1/4" old style bends in his catback, as well as a ****** multi chamber muffler. Heck the weight loss from that monster muffler to a new style perforated flow through will show gains.
A catback will net him more usable power than the OEM crap hes got now.

If ppl think a catback will not gain any power (00-06), then why would the same ppl say get a CAI that is proven to produce even less of these non existent gains that cat backs supposedly produce.
Seems to be another waste of $$$ by that logic.

This is specifically 06 and older.. Not the new Mandrel bent pipes that 07 up use. Because then yes, I agree completely, 07 up gain little to nothing but a defferent sound with a catback.

OP, get a GMPP Stainless 3" Catback and a specter CAI, you will spend less than 500$ and have noticeable gains. Then get your Tune and have the Electric fan pins also turned on. Followed by 05 electric fans and the OEM harness.
You will be very happy for a couple months with the performance gained. Bewarned. you will want more, very soon.

I didn't see any performance gains when putting a Magnaflow catback nor a Corsa Touring on my 04 Tahoe.

If you are looking at the best bang for the buck exhaust vs intake, intake wins.

When testing the intakes on a dyno, the results were pretty consistent with gains across all brands- albeit, not huge.

Ask yourself this, why are there typically no tune changes needed when installing an exhaust system on a vehicle?

it really doesnt matter wich one you get intake or exhaust first neither one gives you any performance untill its re tuned a stock vehicle is tuned for factory intake so aftermarket intakes on a stock tune will do literally nothing if not hurt your performance
ive seen vehicles on the dyno lose 2-3 hp with CAI and a stock tune
