It looks like the extension pipe is starting to fail on my stock exhaust, and I'd like to know if anyone has ever found a replacement that's not aluminized steel? I'd like to stick to stainless due to the crappy winter roadsalt and spray treatment that is dumped on the NH roads every year.

I'm trying to put together a section of exhaust that would remove the factory muffler, but retain some/all of the over-axle to tailpipe section.

I've been looking at the MBRP SS cat-back exhaust, but don't want to make too much noise as I get older and lamer.... just a nice mellow rumble. Mostly, I want better flow. I think upgrading the muffler, and leaving the stock resonator will achieve that.

Tips/tricks/suggestions area always welcome.

This is the part I'm looking for. Rock Auto has it listed as "Extension Pipe", and I assume it's just aluminized steel, which will rust out in a couple years.

If anyone knows about a stainless version of this type of exhaust part, that'd be great.
