I have a flowmaster catback on my yukon that uses a 50 series muffler. It has zero drone.

While it is true that a straight through muffler will produce more horsepower than a chambered design but the difference is very minimal as seen in this test i found online. http://www.mustang50magazine.com/techarticles/m5lp_0212_ford_mustang_muffler_comparison_test/

This was done on a 370 rwhp mustang. I`m sure that the difference in horsepower will be even less on our low performance trucks and you will never feel an extra 3-4 horsepower.

I`m not bashing any other brand, I think they all sound good i just prefer flowmaster. A few extra horsepower isn`t worth hundreds of extra dollars for other brands to me.

I like te sound of my flowmaster. It sounds awesome on startup and when I get in it but doesn't drone. So not going to get any mpg or much gains by doing the rest of the piping in maybe a 3"? Cause all I did was add the flowmaster. See a lot of people doing the cat backs so didn't know if that possibly opened up the piping? Been a fun read to see all the feedback. I know your not going to see huge gains but this coupled with the airaid and tune and electric fans. Thought might be beneficial and this piece is relatively inexpensive

Don't upsize the piping you'll lose low end power.
