I have never owned a new car, never planned on owning a new car and I drive 20k+ miles a year.

I'm going to burn through my 36,000 mile warranty quickly.

Are you guys doing extended warranties? If so, where?

Why do people buy thin air?

To explain further..
IMO, extended warranty options are in the same group as paint sealant, interior protection, and any other bullcrap the dealer can sell you at check out time to enhance their profit. That's the guys job...to sell you more of the same thing after you already bought it once.
They will go on to tell you what it covers, ofcourse, it's already covered, but why mention that.

Brakes last me well over 50 K.
I've never had a major breakdown, or needed any of the parts the "extended" warranty covers.
If you add up the money spent on a vehicle that you may not have in 5 years, you can afford a lot of things that won't happen anyway.
Then, if you do have a breakdown, you are lucky to still break even.
Play the odds, and the odds are extremely tilted towards saying no.

You don't need an extended warranty. Almost all my vehicles are bought used and they always recommend one. When I bought my truck the extended warranty was like $3,300 extra and only would have covered the truck for an extra 12 months beyond the factory warranty. I'll take my chances on needing that in repairs in 12 months. PM me if you'd like some more insight

X3. Save the money you would have spent for the extended warranty and a little each month in to an account for maintenance and repairs. Over the long haul, if you take care of it and know that the highway miles are easiest on the engine, you will come out way ahead. Las Vegas casinos make their money on the odds. The odds are way in the ext warranty companies favor. The draw for most people is that they tell you it covers everything, a lie, and that you can figure it in to your payments and then you are paying interest on the ext warranty money, also. What a come on.

I own an auto repair shop and 50% of the time your extended warranty finds some way to weasel out of paying the bill.
