Factory alarm / Viper two way Problem

03 Yukon XL Denali.

I have a Viper alarm with start in my denali. I don't know which one is malfunctioning but sometimes I'll get in the truck and not hear the beep when I put the key in the ignition and when I start it says "Unknown driver" and nothing works. I have to disconnect the battery to reset the computer. I know both the factory and the viper are integrated but no clue what's causing this.

Anyone else have this problem?

just had the alarm + smart start put in my truck. No problems here. It still reads both drivers and remembers presets. I had a friend that owns a custom shop do the install as messing around with remote starts is one of my least favorite activities. I know viper has a forum dedicated to installers and you can call Directed customer support they're real helpful too.

I had mine professionally installed as well. I"ll check out the DEI website. Incidentally, do you have trouble with the alarm arming too fast? Or while you have the driver's door open? I know the module is installed but still does it.

I haven't had any problems so far. I'm not sure I understand exactly what you mean by it arming to fast. It arms when I press the button on either my phone or the pager.

My viper is on passive arming since I don't know how to change it to active and it arms while I have the door open. My pin switches work fine.

I dunno?

I'm on an iphone, have you taken it back to your installer? They should be responsible for sorting all this out.

yeah they don't know.

Have you called directed yet? They should walk you through a trouble shooting session. If not then have the installer take it out and warranty a new system. No reason it should not work perfectly for what these things retail for.

DO YOU HAVE AN AFTERMARKET HEAD unit by any chance i had my factory radio interface go bad and had the unknown driver problem
