Factory alarm / Viper two way Problem

GM Radio. Only thing aftermarket is cig blue and viper alarm because I wanted the start

I'm on an iphone, have you taken it back to your installer? They should be responsible for sorting all this out.

I've been reading a lot on how these are "unresponsive" and only work ~30% of the time. I've been thinking about going to same route so I was wondering if you could tell me your opinion on it as far as how often it actually works?
