Factory Alarm

ok guys I'm a newbie on here I would really like ur help plz....just got a 04 tahoe and the guy i got it from didnt have the factory remote to lock/unlock the truck.does the factory alarm have a killswitch? kuz my problem is that sumtimes when i open it with the key it wont start and it seems 2 me like it has a killswitch on....my ? is if so can i take this off or disarmed it in a differnt way....really need ur help plz thxz for taking the time 2 read this....

Not sure about the kill switch but I do know you can go to the dealer and get a new key fob for about $150 (not 100% sure of price) or if you can wait a few days order a fob from ebay for less than $50. If you get it from ebay you will have to program it but the seller usually gives a website to go to for the instructions. Also, not sure about the 2004s but I got one from ebay for my 2000 and you have to make sure you get the correct fob for your truck- GM/UTA #. Good luck.

Pep boys also sells the remote for about 50 bucks and it comes with programming instructions

Ok kool thanks....I got 1 from pepboys but it still doesn't turn on...I checked all the fueses and relays took the starter off and get it bench test its gud....so I'm thinking its a killswitch is on....does any1 knows if there's a wire I can cut to disable the whole factory alarm system.....

does the truck not turn over? or will it start, but cut off right away?

No my truck wont even turn over.....now they r telling me since i replace the ignition lock cylinder it might need 2 be re-code.....does any1 knows how i might be able 2 do that

Or you could replace it yourself. Probably have to be a GM one if you have passkey.

Yeah i think i need 2 by one from the o.e.m gm kuz i got one from the auto parts store.....
