Perhaps not coincidentally, the sunroof had been leaking for a while. As a result, the centre console/ glovebox ended up full of water. Wouldn't surprise me if some of that made its way to the amp.

Did you try unhooking the battery for 5 minutes then hook it back up? i think it reboots the bcm

It's dropped to 20 below here and with no longer having a shop to work in, maintenance gets a back seat until a break in the weather.

Interestingly, I do NOT get a headlights on chime. Actually, I just tested this yesterday as I saw that when I returned to my truck after a quick dash into the store, the headlights were on. Seems to me there used to be an alarm and it struck me as odd as it didn't work.

I see this has been been discussed more or less but not in the specific way I'm looking for so I'' ask another question.
Factory radio lights up as it should and has full functionality other than sound. So I know the fuse is good as it has power.
My question: Is there another fuse for an amplifier? Nothing in the service manual indicates there is other than a combined fuse/amp designation. Same with the online postings I've come across (here included).
Nothing has been messed with. It just quit.
Any insights?

I have the same problem with a 2003 Tahoe with Bose. It has to do with temperature for some reason. I got another amp and plugged it in under console and got same results. I could care less about the radio as I play radio on my Iphone.. the issue would be that the chimes quit so if you leave your key in ignition, lights on etc, you get no warning. The other issue is that if you get the radio working and shut car off and forget about it next time you are driving, the thing kicks in a a kaboom and goes to playing and potentially causing you to wreck or wet your pants with your coffee. It is not a rare problem. I have read about them selling a bypass plug adapter for the amp but that involves a lot of wiring. etc.

Since I replaced the amp with same results, I am guessing something going on in the radio head in the dash or one of many wiring connections. I am selling truck to my son and let him deal with it. I am too old to be messing with it any more.

Were they on via the switch, or the Auto-Headlights feature? if switched on, then the dinger should have rung, if on the other way, no dinger would chime.

Sounds like the radio to me.

I switched the headlights on manually. No chime. This truck has its share of electrical gremlins.
I'm guessing the amp is toast.

If water got down in the center console, that’s most likely the issue. You’re probably looking at corrosion in the connectors at the amp, might have blown it but the fuse should have gone at the same time so you might get lucky and it’s just corrosion.
