ok i have 2 questions on this topic

1.does anyone know if the 03 denali's are pre-wired from the dealership for factory entertainment such as a over head factory flipdown??

2.I would like to swap out my factory dvd flipdown with a 15inch monitor and i was told by a local audio shop that they can do it but it will look ghetto because the roof will have pre cut outs from the factory unit that the 15inch wont cover does anyne have a solution to this problem??

Not sure about the first question since my truck came with the entertainment system that's currently in there and if they are saying that the 15 inch won't cover all of the cutout, then it probably won't! There has to be other units out there with the size that you want that will cover well, just gotta look around and ask around!! Bound to be someone on here that will chime in for ya! Sorry, wish I could have helped!

I have the 03 denali w/o the overhead dvd and I don't think it' wired for the tv at all. THe installer said if we were to do it we'd pop out the mad light and put it there.

Seems like if it didn't fit just snug and your dead set on that player you could have something custom molded to fill up that space. If your shop doesn't do stuff like that I'd find another shop...

I was in the same boat that you were. I bought a 19 inch thinking it would cover all the holes in the headliner. It didn't, I had to make a plate to fit underneath it. it worked out anyhow since without the flat support of the plate the overhead didnt want to stay up. The roof is not flat up there and the plastic of the overhead when screwed in tended to flex especially when the car went in and out of driveways. Adding 3/4 MDF under it really made it sturdy and it has not been a problem since. I must say though 19 is just gangster, not the look I was going for but it works for now. It's huge, the kids love it and sitting back there its like looking a normal size TV to watch movies.
Here are some pics, its wraped in headliner material.

Replacement DVD Player

Hi, I have a 2004 Yukon XL w/ a sunroof that has a drop down DVD player that is having issues. It's connected through the factory radio to play sound over speakers but the screen in the RSE DVD player doesn't always. So I'd like to replace it w/ a unit that has a larger screen. Can someone recommend units that are fit to replace factor installed Panasonic drop down units and will still work w/ the factory radio? Thanks!
