I know this is a dumb question, but I don't have a Tahoe yet.
Can you listen to music and have the navigation going at the same time?

Yes, you can. However, if the Tahoe is '05-'06, you cannot be using navigation while listening to a CD. You can listen to anything else. The is because it has no external CD drive like a Denali/Escalade. The 07+ Tahoe's have the ability to listen to a CD and use navigation because they have two drives. But, no matter what year, you can still listen to music, etc.

I have this same dilema on my 04 Factory nav.
Is the only option to replace the unit with aftermarket one or can you add external CD drive to exisiting factory nav?

You can add the OEM denali/escalade 6 disc changer to yours.

This should give you an idea of what it would look like. It's not hard to install or wire up either.

I plan on getting an Ipod and dumping XM. You can burn all of your CD songs to your Ipod. A remote 6 disc is so old technology.
