I tried opening the file that Ozark posted but it wouldn’t open. It just went to a media player
The part# for the update is 84990634
I’ll try again in the next couple of days
Thanks to all that are helping me out
right click on the file first then.......
Most DAT files contain text, so you can open them with text editors, like Notepad, Notepad++, VS Code, and so on.

But it doesn’t happen directly, so you need to right-click on the file and hover on the “Open with” option:

I just ran across my map update thumb drive. There are two files that you will need to update your VIN in. Both are the same file name. First is in Cryptnav/Program/SDX_MY16.dat the second is in Cryptnav/Data/Data/Misc/SDX_MY16.dat. There is one line in each file that requires your VIN. It should pop out at you, but if you have trouble, let me know.

I don't know that simply changing that will work, but it's a start. I don't have access to another GM vehicle, so I can't verify whether or not it works.

As others have asked, please let us know if it does work.
Update
I found the vin on both files
I updated the vin with my vin
I’ll try it in the next couple of days
Thanks again for your help
I never would of been able to figure this out on my own.

I did some digging within the files and found this
This page contains the following errors
I’m thinking that’s what’s causing the update from working
Thanks to all that tried helping me out. I’m guessing the usb is pooched
