Hi, I'm new here! Just bought a 00 Tahoe and wanted to know what size the factory sub is. Can it be replaced or should a box and amp be my option? The factory sub is busted and sounds really bad...it needs help quick!

Thanks!

Factory sub is an 8".

There are a few people here running preform boxes that got where the factory one is. MTX makes one of these but their rather pricy. I don't know what your budget is or if you need the cargo space but a lot of people will say to go with a larger system.

go to the junk yard if you dont want to spend $$$. i beleve its an 8". i know MTX makes an aftermarket setup, and maybe others. it comes down on how much you want to spend. im guessing it would be $50 or less form a junk yard.

*damn i should learn how to type faster*
*sorry for the repeat answer*

Make sure you get a free air sub that doesn't require a sealed enclosure and also a 'shallow mount' sub that won't have too big of a magnet so it can fit. I know kicker makes a free air one that doesn't look too bad.
