I have a white 07 tahoe and on the drivers side the moldings on the door are all faded yellow and cannot get it back to white. any idea why this might be happening and/or how i can fix without having to remove them or get new ones.

mine are starting to fade on the upper part of the molding. if you want to keep them, i think your best bet would be to take them off, repaint them and put them back on.

Probably need to be removed, re-taped, repainted. Its common on those moldings to fade. SOME shops can do a good job at masking and painting them while on the vehicle, but then you're out the vehicle while they do it.

Ive done thousands of body side moldings and I will tell you that no two are ever in the same place from the factory. My suggestion:

Take a tape measure and measure from the bottom of the door to the bottom of the molding - very front and very rear on the rear door. Take note, and remove the moldings, bring to a body shop to have sprayed and re-taped. Then when you put the new moldings on, take some masking tape and measure up from the bottom and mark (front and rear). Then at your front mark, place a piece of tape and bring it to the rear mark. Now you'll have a perfectly straight line of where the moldings need to be. Tape them back on and your truck will look new again.

I like the idea, I have contemplated just removing them completely but can't make up my mind.

Remove them, sit on it for a little bit with them off to see if you like it bare. If not, have em painted and slap them back on.
