failed at painting the rear window wiper

So that thing was starting to fade, and i decided to paint it, masked off the whole back, and painted. For some reason it came out all fuzzy. Tried a second time, again, fuzzy. Then sanded most of it off now I have a chrome and faded black rear wiper.

Any thoughts?

what do you mean fuzzy? like the texture or what? you can just take it off your truck you know that right? fold it up and then pop out the clip and it pulls right off.. use any wax and grease remover? what did you sand it with?

fuzzy in bubbly and then some. hit it with like 200

thats weird.. What i would do is red pad the whole thing, wax and grease remover it, then shoot it. it should be fine then..

Yea its a scuff pad of a grit of 400. Its so you can get into the grooves and such.
They have different color pads, meaning different grits.

how many coats did you put on? what was your drying time inbetween coats?

Red pad = Red Scotchbrite scuffing pads. If you do not clean it well w/wax and grease remover then you will get "bubbles" or fish eyes as we call them. Scuff it well then wax and grease and let it dry about 2 minutes. The quality of paint makes a difference as well. I use paint from a company called SEM. It is called Trim Black. Looks exactly like it comes from the factory. Give it one coat, wait about 5 minutes and give it another coat. Let dry, re-install wiper and you're done.
