Welcome from MN & FL. Winter presents its own challenges, but your 2011 sounds like it's plenty capable. You'll get a kick out of 4WD in the snow.
Some of the GM vehicles have adjustments in the programming that can add weight (or reduce it). You might want to research what adjustments you have online and/or through a dealer.
