Right. I thought the breather setup would be cleaner but didnt realize how close it was to sensors.

That breather on the passenger side is a fresh air inlet, not a "dirty" (oily) air outlet like the one on the driver's side (PCV). You can plumb it into the intake or possibly leave it. I don't think it'll cause any emissions codes.
