Clip the wire closest to the bcm. It probably is short to ground somewhere. I doubt it fried your bcm it would show on other things if it did. Test your trailer reverse plug wire. If it's good use that.

if you have to trade her in just take off all your stuff and put it on the new one and then that way we could be some of the few lifted tahoe/yukons in town. haha. I'm sorry you are having this many problems though, i hope there is something good out of this.

I honestly hate body shops even more than service shops.

Especially when they pull interior panels. The Bastards beat the panels back on and create rattles that were not there before.

The backup lamp request signal is sent from the PCM to the BCM on the GMLAN serial data system. This signal is based on the park neutral position (PNP) switch signal. The BCM supplies voltage to the backup relay and to the automatic day/night mirror when the vehicle is in reverse. The backup relay supplies a voltage on the backup lamp supply voltage circuit to the backup lamps and trailer backup circuit. The engine may need to be running for the backup lamps to function.
Cargo Lamps

The cargo lamp is controlled by the courtesy lamp supply voltage circuit. When the dimmer switch is turned clockwise to the farthest setting, the BCM receives an input from the dimmer switch for courtesy lamps and cargo lamp to be commanded ON.
