Is it possible to replace my fender marker lights (I have a Suburban 2500 Quadrasteer) without removing the fender liners?

Can you suggest anywhere for me to look to see how to do it? I searched the site and I searched YouTube, but nothing useful in either place. A general Google search leads me to believe the lenses can be pried out, but another site suggests pulling the fender linings. At this point, I just want to replaced the burned out bulb. Ultimately, I think I'd like to switch to clear lenses all the way around with colored LEDs.

Thanks for any help.

The above is not my Suburban; it's just a convenient image gleaned from a Google serch. Mine is Burgundy.

I've actually never seen those lights in the fenders before. That looks European spec to me. Those flares should be held on with double stick tape and pushpins. Shouldn't be too bad going in from the fender liner.

Those lights are required by US DoT because the Quadrasteer vehicles have a rear axle width 5" wider than normal. That's also why they have the cab marker lights and the rear marker light (if you want to see a picture of the rear one, I'll be happy to supply it at some point in the future.

Regardless, I don't have a repair manual on the Tahoe or the Suburban, and the owners' manual doesn't have instructions on it -- that I can find.

Not hard, just a little bit of a pita.

Now the trick is finding instructions on how to do it. From my initial investigation, it looks as if it is four bolts or so.

What does anyone on this board use for repair manuals?

Thanks again,

Will

Accidentally stumbled across the solution -- it's actually in the owner's manual. You peel back a gasket, insert a flat-bladed screwdriver in a slot made for the purpose, and (gently) pry out.
