ok i was bored today and was looking at different trucks different set ups different things. and i noticed on some they have a dual shock set up. ok i know that thats not that uncommon but what are the benefits of it? my tahoe only has a single shock and doesnt seem like it has alot of give to it. and another one i saw like this one

http://www.foxracingshox.com/product.php?m=moto&t=shocks&p=3341&ref=filter

and another one i saw was a dual set up with one being like the fox shocks and another just a normal shock.

mine doesnt have coilovers or springs whatever there called do i need them? or what. im more into the mini trucks so lifted stuff is new to me.

unknown at this time.
They are trying to control dampening power when the riding gets rough. That maybe about it. I thought it was a little more. I have not had mine down for a few months now. I have not powered up my alarm interfaced rear window controller yet.

i thought they would go down almost half way like newer tahoes. seems pointless to have them go down that far lol. one other question on the fox shock it has something else on the outside connected to the shock what is it? and if i got coilovers/springs would my ride be better? or is it not necessary?

Dual shocks basically look cool. Without proper valvig they ride like shit. Bilstein's website explains valving and what type you need to run a dual set up

ok i was looking at one of ur older pics and it looks like ur shocks are opposite compared to mine? are mine in wrong cause the white part is on bottom but urs looks like its on top. in ur sig it looks like mine tho

here is the pic im referring to

so what would make the ride a lil smoother i know im gonna do new shocks but should i add something more like the coilovers or should i go the route of dual shocks?

A good single shock up front should be plenty, coil overs is a lot of trouble to based on your current set up

ok just wondering if i needed them. also with the way its set up now im not a huge fan of cause if i turn deep i think something is rubbing the shock ill get a pic tomorrow if i can. i think it might be a control arm rubbing.

When I turn hard and hit big bumps I rub the body of the shock just a little. It was worse with teh crappy shocks that came with my kit because the bodies were larger diameter.
