hello all,
my name is Justin and I'm from St. Louis, MO
I've always only had small import cars and roughly 6 months ago i bought a 2001 suburban off of my buddy. currently it has 191,000 miles on it.
-2.3L whipple (old school 2 belt system)
-built 4l60E (i know im going to catch some flack for that)
-built 10 bolt (richmond gear 3.73 eaton posi)
-hedman shorty headers
-2.5" y-pipe with highflow cats
-banks power 3" catback
i think thats it as far as the important stuff
the whippletronics has been removed from the truck and it has been retuned by someone, not sure who though.
unfortunately i am the third owner of the truck and the original owner is the one that installed the whipple. the only thing i have done to this truck since ive had it was the rear end.
so now let me explain the trans and rear end.
after my buddy bought it the trans went. he took it to a local trans shop and they guaranteed they could build a 4l60E to more than hold the power and torque of the truck. it has billet input and output shafts, billet servo, 9 friction 3-4 packs, and a "red" 1-2 band. they said it could hold 900/900 under track conditions consistently. but they back it with a warranty so im happy to take it back if i ***** its guts.
other than the small little things that bug me about having a huge vehicle its not a bad truck. the cargo room is amazing and the seating is fantastic.
my plans include a level lift with 2.5 inch spacers in the rear and 33x11.5 all terrain tires. finish off the audio. send the whipple back and have it converted to the single belt system. e-fans. possibly heads/cam. and then obviously get it tuned. and paint because for some reason someone thought it would be a good idea to paint red pinstripe onto a black suburban.
sorry i tend to be long winded.
