hello all,
my name is Justin and I'm from St. Louis, MO

I've always only had small import cars and roughly 6 months ago i bought a 2001 suburban off of my buddy. currently it has 191,000 miles on it.

-2.3L whipple (old school 2 belt system)
-built 4l60E (i know im going to catch some flack for that)
-built 10 bolt (richmond gear 3.73 eaton posi)
-hedman shorty headers
-2.5" y-pipe with highflow cats
-banks power 3" catback

i think thats it as far as the important stuff

the whippletronics has been removed from the truck and it has been retuned by someone, not sure who though.

unfortunately i am the third owner of the truck and the original owner is the one that installed the whipple. the only thing i have done to this truck since ive had it was the rear end.

so now let me explain the trans and rear end.

after my buddy bought it the trans went. he took it to a local trans shop and they guaranteed they could build a 4l60E to more than hold the power and torque of the truck. it has billet input and output shafts, billet servo, 9 friction 3-4 packs, and a "red" 1-2 band. they said it could hold 900/900 under track conditions consistently. but they back it with a warranty so im happy to take it back if i ***** its guts.

other than the small little things that bug me about having a huge vehicle its not a bad truck. the cargo room is amazing and the seating is fantastic.

my plans include a level lift with 2.5 inch spacers in the rear and 33x11.5 all terrain tires. finish off the audio. send the whipple back and have it converted to the single belt system. e-fans. possibly heads/cam. and then obviously get it tuned. and paint because for some reason someone thought it would be a good idea to paint red pinstripe onto a black suburban.

sorry i tend to be long winded.

Nice truck.

i thought it was vinyl when i first got it so i got the heat gun and plastic razors out and set out to remove it. turns out its either paint, or the cleared over the vinyl. that ish aint coming off.

thank you for the warm welcome.

and because i loved the last car i owned

i had my subie for 2 years before getting rid of it. i finally sold it because the engine blew for the second time and i wasnt willing to put more money into it.

after selling it for 3000 dollars to some used car lot i found it 3 months later sitting in a lot burned to the ground. the only way i knew it was mine was the band-aid sticker on the front bumper.

i bought the truck to have as a daily and use to tow my projects around, even though currently i dont have any.

Good pinstripers use enamel over the poly clear. It will be paint but will come off without damaging the clear. Take it to a good body shop to check out.

:waytogo: I drive through ST L several times a year on my way to Indiana to see family. We were just through there a couple weeks ago, in fact. Drove through the north side on our way to Indiana. Made a vaca out of the trip and went south to Louisville, Ky then on our way back through went through the south side of ST L to go to Six Flags. Nothing like a road trip with the Suburban filled with kids, misc necessities for said kids, cooler filled with juice boxes and water, and movies playing
