My truck is a 2wd, but I think you're correct in that it doesn't make a difference in terms of the lowering kits. I will likely be going with the 733blt then; it is approx $300 cheaper. If I'm not happy with the ride or have issues with the shorter coils in front, I guess I could then always just purchase the adjustable front struts separately, and swap the stock springs back in.?.

Thanks again for your advice/input! BTW - the Baer brakes look awesome.
Did you shave the rack or order the truck like that?

Mark,

That sounds like a smart plan. If I were you, I would PM one of the sponsors here and tell him what you have and want...DJM Suspension; He's very helpful and knows waht he's talking about. Even though I didnt buy my kit from him, he still answered many questions I had. I own a company that manufactures parts and accessoreis for the automotive aftermarket, and bought my kit from one of my dealers.

I took my roof rack off, and put low profile black button-head bolts in the mounting holes. Not the absolute ideal sitauation, but it's better than the roof rack. The ideal siutaion would be to fill the holes and repaint, but in my opinion, its not worth it.

Hi Clay, me again. I don't yet have enough posts to pm you, so, hopefully you find this. I've since installed the 733blt kit we discussed - only the 3 inches so far in the rear. I noticed that in a previous response you mentioned that your rear tires rub at times "on turns". Is that with the truck loaded or unloaded? Have you done anything to rectify the issue yet (ie. trim or bend the inner fender)?? Mine was rubbing the other day with the truck completely loaded with camping gear.

Thanks for any insight you can provide.

Hi Mark,

Yeah, I had the same problem. Initially I got a heat gun and pushed in the inner fender. That was kind of a pain, and didnt fix the problem 100%. I ended up taking a die grinder and a trimed it away where needed. If you take your time and finsh off the edges, no one will ever know. Worked for me! By the way, mine rubbed regardless of it being loaded up or not since it's an LTZ (air ride). On a side note, I have since then put on a Baer big brake kit...what a differance that made in stopping! 15 inch rotors in the front and 14 in the rear.

Clay, thanks for the quick response. My truck is also the LTZ (2wd though) with Autoride. I have only noticed mine rubbing when the truck is fully loaded - with only me, my wife and 2 kids, the truck seems to be okay. Maybe that's b/c I'm only at 2/3 inches lowering right now. I will try the heating method 1st and then the trimming. Have you done anything with your computer yet to address removing the front Autoride struts?? Are you happy with those Belltech lowering struts?

On a side note, now that my truck is lowered, I get a distinct vibration at 100km/h. I think I might have to install the DJM trailing arm relocators to fix that?

The Baer brakes look awesome btw!!

Mark,

I havent done anything to keep the "check suspension system" message. There is a fix, and there is a thread on here that tells you how to fix it. It's easy (you just add a resistor to the no longer used electrical connector). I just havent gotten around to doing that. Yes, I'm very pleased with the bell-tech struts. I have no idea why you developed a vibration. Did you lower the front at all? If so, be sure get an alignment, as lowering it alters the camber, (among other things, I would imagine)

Yes, the front is lowered 2" right now (spindles), as we could not get the top strut bolt off (not supposed to use air tools or heat, and can't budge it with hand tools). I would like to bring the front down 1 more inch to have a 3/3 lowering; that would give me a slight rake, which I like. The vibration is right at 100km/h and I'm wondering if the pinion angle is just out enough to be causing it. I have heard that the trailing arm brackets will restore that to near-normal, so I might give them a try. Either that, or just drive faster or slower than 100kph.

Thanks for your help Clay.
