You can’t pay over msrp, you will lose your ass because the vehicle will depreciate so fast. In 6 years when u have 90,000 miles and wana upgrade to the new model, your 2021 is worth $35k and u paid $90k. U just spent $55k on a vehicle over 5-6 years.
I feel I paid too much, mine was $79,000 sticker and after GM discount and taxes I got for $76,400 otd. I did well on my 18’ tho, and put $52k down. And I most likely won’t want a new one until a new model comes out in 5-6 years.
I keep my vehicles longer. This one I have is 8 yrs old. I’m planning on keeping this new one longer if I can.

Yeah, I ran the numbers and asked myself, do I really want to pay this much for the car?!

With supplier discount- with my order, I am close to $81K OTD. Unless they have rebates, then I’ll get it for less. But I hope when it’s delivered they’ll have rebates!

I was going to finance with my credit union. Yeah I think I’m gonna wait. I was just so excited they found it and they were willing to do a dealer trade. But then it was like it’s going to be MSRP plus this $1,300 over MSRP, like oh shit!
But again I never agreed to buy it. I told him I’ll run my numbers.

i’ll just tell him no if he calls back. But damn, I can build that same exact car with supplier pricing. They just won’t sell that exact one that’s on that truck for supplier. Lol.
That’s them being greedy not accepting supplier, is that the same dealership who agreed on supplier for the factory order?

You really want this car, is it a necessity or is it an emotional need. I get it after being couped up I want a new toy but I won't be manipulated by my emotions or market conditions into being exploited. Someday in the not distant future the time will be conducive to buying or not. I may want something else by then and the car manufacturers know this so they will be pumping these things to market as fast as possible. Don't let your emotions rule investments or in this case a major purchase.

No this is one that’s much closer. I saw a few that were only doing MSRP so I thought I’d take my chance and ask them, seemed like prices were coming down. Beats the 10K over MSRP the other one wanted. Lol. But yeah- it was for added stuff the dealership plans to “put on” it.

Something I have wanted and worked for, for a long time. Couldn’t get it due to having a dog that was in and out of the vet often. The dog had since passed away.

I waited almost 2 years, this is the first Yukon that I have ever wanted. I gave up the Escalade. Too pricey for the same car tbh.

I hear the chip shortage is easing, but then the inflation may still climb. So I tried to find it now, but if I could not - at least I will still be holding the order i have, just in case.

I think it’s more of a I’m running out of patience. Lol. I also kind of wanted it before in the September area because come October it’s going to be more like winter weather in Colorado. So before October would’ve been the best time to go on the road trip, there’s a almost 2-year-old that I’ve never met due to this Covid stuff.

You have seen all the members on here that bought brand new and are having TSB and Recall problems, right? You are worked up about this new rig and I totally understand it. A new rig is really something to get worked up about. As much as I may want a new rig sometimes, I like to get the used low mileage ones and fix it the way I want to. I understand how you are doing it though. You need a loan for the rig and don't have lots of cash to be able to do what you want. Plus, like what @Banks22 said, you don't want to pay too much and lose your ass with the depreciation.

In my experience the harder I have worked to rationalize a purchase or push the numbers the higher the probability of remorse later.
I understand that. I actually just put in how much the loan would be into the auto loan calculator to see how much my payment would be, I know how much I would rather pay and I know how much would work. I’ve seen people in $800-$1000+ monthly payments and that is absolutely insane! My goal was to be in the 400 area mid-500. But with this over MSRP stuff it would push me more into the higher 600s and I just can’t see myself paying 600+ a month for a vehicle, I can afford it I just don’t want to. Lol.

So the reason why I say run the numbers is because honestly I’m bad at doing math in my head, when I run numbers I just use the auto loan calculator.

Yea, knowing that anyone is paying that much each month and of course the total amount is not toward the principal. The most I ever paid a month for a vehicle payment was $525.81 a month. I dreaded that payment each month. Came out in the end a-o-k though.

I have one on order for employee pricing, well employee supplier pricing. That one I’m willing to do. The saving up for the three months and then putting it down on the loan again, was because somebody owes me some money and had they paid me back by now, I would have everything I need.

it’s just more of a patience issue. They can’t tell me when I can get the 22, and I get that; I was just hoping to have it for a road trip that’s all. So I figured I would try for the one I found that’s actually coming, which is exact same thing I would’ve ordered anyway, minus the entertainment system in the back.

most I paid was $530. And I was OK with that because I was able to put more down on it if I needed to and I also paid it off sooner. For this one I would like the same or less the monthly payment. :)

but I’ll roll the dice and see what happens with my order. I do hope it comes sometime this year or early next year.
