would piston slap damage the engine after a while ?

From what I read people have tried to go to the dealer in hopes of them fixing the piston slap which as far as I know no one has been successful in doing this. I am 100% sure this is not good for the engine and definitely damaging the engine in some way but I just don't know how much. The fact that GM won't even acknowledge that it is an issue and say that "it's normal" is completely unacceptable though :/

I just noticed it doing it when there was snow out so only when it's really cold. Before that I had never heard it before. It basically does it for 5-10 seconds warming up then goes away.

I hate to say it but that does sound pretty "normal" to me, at least for these big trucks in cold weather. All of mine have done it as well as everyone that I know in the area. Your best bet if it really bothers you and you have access to an outlet is to plug in a block heater when you know its going to be very cold in the mornings. I don't have that option where i live so I just try to remote start it for about 5 min before I start driving.

I know the best case would be that GM would actually fix the problem, but we all know that isn't going to happen.

I installed A defender Roof Rack on top which I mounted a waterproof fuse box. From this box I have the ability to run different setups , at the moment I have 4 High intensity LED 20 watt Floods , I have 2 on the back and 2 on the front. ( I installed the fronts a few days after this pic was taken so i will be adding more pics of the fronts and with all the lights on in the dark) I also added 2 more hella rallye 4000 pencil beams to the from grill guard.

I de badged the back of the car and removed the rear window grab, and rebadged Denali above the license plate, and you can see the led floods which match the ones in the front.
