Alright guys, I'm turning to you first.

My truck is running sloppy. By that, I mean during acceleration it is hesitating, then surging a bit. No codes, yet, to go off of.

Not sure where to begin diagnosing/fixing.

First thoughts are filters, so I'll start with the air filter, but anyone else have suggestions or ideas on where/what else to look for?

Thanks!

Fuel Filter, Fuel Pump, collapsed Catalytic converter...three items that could cause this

Also...do 20 mph...then stomp on the gas..if it kinda bogs down...its more then likely one of the top 3...

I thought about the MAF too, but I have zero experience with them and honestly don't know what I'm looking for or even where to find it....lol.

I fail at mechanical stuff........

Take some carb cleaner and spray around the air intake manifold and air intake, tube and all. If you spray at the connections of the intake and around the base of the manifold and the idle changes while spraying a spot, there is probably your problem. I'm guessing an air leak but it could be other problems than this!
You can get some MAF specific spray cleaner to clean out your MAF at any auto parts store, if it looks dirty I'd get some and see if that solves it, just some simple maintenance stuff to do at least!!

How many miles are on your truck? When was the last time the fuel filter, plugs and such were changed? I just did a full on tune up on mine at 150k miles and it made a world of difference.

start with the MAF and if not it has to be the fuel filter or pump, has your pump been making weird noises or anything???

No weird noises from anything. I'd clean the MAF if I knew where it was. Owner's manual doesn't tell me jack.

It has around 135k now. No idea when any of that stuff was done, since we've only had it for about 6 months.

Just got back from running some errands and seems to run fine now. Weird. I'll still check the MAF and clean it as that just sounds like a good thing to do occasionally.

The MAF is right after the air cleaner on your truck, you will see a plug going to it just after the air cleaner filter and before the tubing going to the engine!! You have to be careful when messing with it, it has a bunch of little wires in it that you don't want to touch! No compressed air on it either, if you are going to clean it, better pick up some MAF specific cleaner for it and let it air dry after using it!
