They do not shine through the end, the end is blocked. It is metal, flat on the outside and convex on the side facing the LED to direct light to the sides.

As you can see, it is still light outside. I can shoot the pictures now, or I can wait for it to get dark.

You can see the color temperature outside blown out above the P/S of the truck, the original bulb in the P/S Fog Lamp Housing, and the new LED in the D/S Fog Lamp Housing.
