to me 4x4 is a reassurance thing. Snow tires help a big deal and i put them on my wifes accord and get around just fine

Snow + flat pavement all you need is skill. Add an incline and it is a different situation. Awd / 4wd becomes necessary. I go places in the mountain passes that you have to have 4 to get there in the snow plus skill. Especially some the ski slopes I frequent all over the country.

suvs tend to be way better in snow then a truck..you have weight over the entire frame, so unlike a truck you dont have to put a bunch of sand bags or weight in the back...im lowered 3/5 and on some basic tires and i get around anywhere i need to go in the winter..except this driveway lol..we got 2 feet during the day..and it was pure ice under neath..slid down into the snow bank but pulled right out no problem

I don't own this car anymore BUT I can tell you my HyHoe would have done better getting up my parents driveway the other year instead of my vette with its summer slicks on. Took me about 30min to get up even after I tried to shovel it some.

It is all how you drive. And react to the surface conditions. I used to drive te wifes accord in 6" of snow on the road all the time. With perrelli performance tires. (she now has an AWD element)

Our mtn place is on a road that is 4miles of 4-17% grade. Most of te winter it is 4wd only. Last year there was a dump. And 2' of fresh snow was on the road. I wanted to snowboard. 4High and the Tahoe never batted an eye. Buddies H3 with lockers got stuck 2x and I had to save him. Lol

After about 2 hours before te main dump over night.

I will tell you what my 26"s didn't like the 3" of snow that we got. I could barely get up my driveway in 2wd but once in 4wd I was fine.. The winter rims will be going on this week.
