Just skip the "4 Auto" all together. It does nothing but cause wear and tear to the vehicle. Just use "4 Hi" as swathdiver has mentioned, when your about to need it.

I have a 2016 LTZ 2WD. I purchased in February 2017 with 5,000 miles on it. Currently at 33,***. I’ve been having this jerking transmission issue for about the last 15,000 miles. I have had it looked at every time it’s been in the shop for any repairs or oil changes and have been told there is no issue. My problems occur when turning corners, letting off gas while turning and then the thud/jerk happens when pushing gas to accelerate again. Also happens when driving and letting off gas to coast and then Accelerating again. Mine can sometimes be an obnoxious thud and jerk into gear. It happens almost daily and more than once. I’m really not sure where to go from here. My vehicle is out of warranty as of a few days ago and I can only assume it’s going to get worse.
