Well, I bought it. 140k miles, no warning lights on dash, alpine stereo system, leather interior, no rust anywhere, near perfect condition. Paid $3700 for it.

Oh, I already discovered a small problem. When the engine is cold is warms up in 2 mins or less and will go to 220 on the temp gauge then run right at or just a hair below the 210 mark. It's not overheating or anything but there isn't a whole lot of coolant in it, either.

I'm going to get a coolant flush done at a shop, what kind of coolant should I tell them to use? I've had a lot of people tell me not to use the factory dexcool in these engines...

Use the factory dexcool but be sure you completely flush it including the heater core as well. And change the thermostat as well.

Really? I thought using dexcool was bad because it eats away at gaskets? Not arguing with you, I just always thought that...I'm pretty new to these as I've never owned any model GM around this year.

dexcool is "slippery" stuff. it will find its way thru the smallest crevice and once it is contaminated it can be a mess. But overall it does what it is designed to do.

I've only put about 20 miles on it since I picked it up but I love it already, definitely going to be keeping this one for a while.
