FIX headlight/dimmer switch (not replace)

Here’s what is usually wrong if your dimming lights are acting wonky. Plenty of YouTube videos on how to remove the switch. Just 4 screws and pry it apart. Then you might see corrosion all over the traces and contacts. Mine wasn’t that bad. If the little gold cymbal looking things falls out on you, it goes ina channel on the override switch. Don’t forget the spring either. Rest is pretty much self explanatory. I didn’t take a picture of the dimmer traces, but you get the idea (this is the actual headlight part). Just clean it all up by wiping it off, using an eraser, or some electronic cleaner or IPA.

Thanks. Mine is acting wonky. Quick look at replacements and they're all with greenish lamps. Now to get the balls to do this myself!

Worked like a charm using isopropyl. Thanks again - your post was the first hit for "dimmer" when searching the NBS sub-forums here. If i get OCD, I'll pick up some more deoxit since my FIL borrowed mine to never return it and also do some grease.
