Why do these vehicles come with so much rake? I can understand rake on half-tons and SUV's withOUT self-levelling since you want to allow for some suspension sag under a full bed load or tongue weight. But with self-levelling you'd think they could come more level from the factory.. looks so much better. So to level out the rake somewhat what are the best options? Would prefer to drop the rear a say 1-1.5" rather than raise the front. Is there a way to fool the auto-leveller into making that happen without need for new springs? To be clear I do not want to lower the whole vehicle, don't want a slammed look, just flatten it out to a bit of rake. And I certainly do not want to compromise ride quality or towing ability.

springs and then cut/replace rods in the auto leveling sensors

you can get 2" drop springs for the rear and then spacers to go back up to the exact height you want

If rear springs are needed, maybe its a lot easier to just do a front ~1.5" lift via lower strut spacer?

well that's up to you... They are about the same as far as "easy" goes. Do you want to be level at a lower setting, or level at a higher setting?

Thanks, very detailed presentation. Do you have any "after" pictures of a 1.5" rear drop ?

I've got Tony's rear kit on my Escalade. I dropped the rear 2.5" so it would sit just 1/2" higher in the rear for a VERY slight rake. I think it's perfect but here's a pic so you can decide for yourself.
