So, nobody I know really cares, but I know you guys do, so just thought I'd let somebody know that I replaced my blower motor in my 94 yukon today, and while I was at it, the passenger door (attachment screw had pulled through the handle, a larger washer seems to have cured the problem).

As for the blower motor, none of the things I found told me to remove the ECM, so I spent way too much time trying to remove the screws, working around that darn rubber cover. Once the ECM was out it went smooth as anything. Works Great!

I did mine a month or so ago, and I couldn't get the rubber thingy back on. I had a fight with it and lost...

I wouldn't mind it going back on. You say removing the ECM helps?

Can you explain the ECM thing a bit more?

If you take the glove box out, you see a metal box sitting on top. If it is set up like mine, you didn't get the rubber cover out in one piece without removing the ECM. The ECM is held on a plastic holder by some retaining clips. Pop those loose, remove the wires from teh ECM set it aside, remove the screws from the plastic tray and take it out, then the rubber cover comes right out. Then it is easy access. I also found it convenient to loosn the lower part of the dash which gave me a couple of extra inches of playing room.

I did the blower in my 95 about 5 years ago. Seemed natural to remove the ECM so that is what I did. It was the only way to get at all the screws for the cover.

probably is obvious, but ever since I was abducted :shocked:I get nervous around metal boxes with multiple connections. I try to avoid them when I can.

knowing that sarcasm doesn't translate, I should note that I was not abducted...

Was the blower dead or just chirpping? I replaced my tahoe blower a year ago and now the burban needs one...sounds like a bad bearing and it only happens sometimes.

Me too! I mean nervous about metal boxes with multiple connections, not getting abducted.. So I left mine alone and used a knuckle on the socket extention to get at that screw.

Thanks for the tip! I'm sure other people will find this usefull.
