does anyone have a easy fix for the common wearing and flaking on the buttons on stearing wheels and head unit like on the seek button, maybe a model paint? stickers?

buy new buttons for $35 on ebay and use your steering wheel controls more :)
I have to say though, your buttons are in way better shape than mine... my presets are pretty much roadkill.

so being as i had the luxory of having 2 hu's i took them apart and put all the god buttons on one and lucky me it looks brand new cause i didnt have 2 bad buttons the same incase any one else wants to fix i took pics to show how

so the front plate is held on by 8 of these clips you habe to undo then pull off

once you pull the front plate off you have to remove the 4 small screws

then pop the 2 knobs off and the circuit board will pop right off

here is the new improved hu with good buttons

heres the old with all the worn out buttons

How about once there back on. Do you think clear nail polish would work to help keep the from flaking again? I can raid my daughter nail polish for mine. You guys can raid your wifes or hit the dollar store lol.
