Hey all. 1st question I've posted here. Since I bought our 02 Yukon XL 1500 about 5 years ago, the brakes have always been kind of "wimpy". There has always been sufficient braking power, but not the slam your head off the steering wheel braking power. (my '97 F250 will about throw you through the windshield.) I have noticed that the pedal has a little extra travel when compared to other vehicles, and I've bled the hell out of them, as I've had to replace a couple of brake lines due to corrosion/leaks. Sometimes, I can pump the break pedal and get a little extra firmness. I've used traditional bleeding and I've also used a mityvac. I really have no reason to believe there is air in system.

Fast forward to yesterday. I went to put the Yukon in gear, and noted the pedal had way too much travel. Lo and behold, another brake line blew out. I have the remainder of the full kit that I never got to finish, so here we go... I found it odd that even though the one line blew, I pretty much have no brakes at all. I had it going 25-30 to get it home between FIL's house and mine, and had the pedal to the floor halfway between houses to get it slowed down enough to turn in the driveway. However, it will stop...eventually. My guess is that the line that is bad is for the fronts, as the front has typically been the stronger side of the system on this truck (judging from diving of the front end during hard braking). Now, there is no ABS Light on and I have had the ABS Pump kick in before, but I've also had the rear end try to come around in a skid before, too. The fluid level with the blown line is equal front to rear, just below the seam of the reservoir.

I've done some reading on this before, but haven't come up with any solid conclusion nor have found anything similar in the forum search. My thoughts are either the Master Cylinder is bad or there's a stuck valve in the ABS Modulating Valve Assy. However, I wanted to pitch it to you guys and draw on your experience. I would like to replace whatever bad component I have (if any) since I'm going to breaking the system open completely anyway. Thanks for any help. It would greatly, appreciated. Please let me know if there's any further details I can provide.
