You won't be able to disengage the cruze with the brakes? That's a serious liability for the manufacturer.

It’s the other way around. Cruse control won’t engage without the resistors, at least on my 04 Tahoe.

I didn’t need them on my 01(for the cruise control) I still don’t have them on the brake lights, and just used the CC A few minutes ago , must have changed something in the later years? The ecm is more involved on newer vehicles, maybe the drive by wire on newer models need it? I am drive by cable.
