Escalade the same? Hell no. Different interior, electrical, drivetrain, body panels, sound deadening, doors, panels, everything aside from maybe the frame and shell of the body is different and well worth the $.

Well, at the top trim levels, the Yukon/Tahoe shares a great deal with the escalade. Mechanicals are almost identical when you get it with the 6.2 and autoride susp. I dunno, I own one and I think they are WAY overpriced. Bought mine used and it was a good value then but I really don't understand how they get that much for an escalade when they are new. Some pretty cheap materials used on the interiors (compared to the competition) and some of the technology is pretty ancient. Makes them very reliable but sure as hell shouldn't be charging that much for it.
I pretty much said that in a nice way.
The only thing that makes it even worth buying is its more executive nameplate/features and resale value. One can make their money back easier in a resale since there are a lot fewer of them on the market than Tahoes/Yukons.
A brand new 2012 Escalade Luxury AWD would run at least $70k after taxes and title, talk less of financing interest.
But decently equipped 2012 Tahoes/Yukond these days are right around 50k and have way less features and way more quality issues.
