i had ONE issue in the couple years that i have been running the 3.0 versions, 1 single instance that one light didnt illuminate. i unplugged the harness, lubed the pins and made sure they were all the same length for engagement, and have not a single issue. although they are good quality, they are not OEM quality and issues can arise. take the time to disconnect, add dielectric grease and re-engage the connections squeezing tightly.

Okay… Got one new bulb, installed it on the passenger side today and still doing the same thing.

Most of the time it’s still the passenger side but sometimes both. I’ve checked and checked all wiring, pins etc. and don’t see anything wrong with them.

Guess I should’ve just left the stuff alone damn it!

The Retrofit Source sent me a pair of replacement Morimotos via FedEx and while FedEx tracking shows them being delivered last Sunday, nothing showed up at my door and according to my Ring cameras/doorbell nobody entered my yard or front door at or around the time FedEx says the package was delivered.

This is just something else... :emotions122::favorites68::fc5716bd::favorites37:

I'm sure flickering LEDs have been discussed ad nauseam, but thought I'd add my twist to the topic and see if anybody has any ideas or has experienced the same and fixed it.

I installed Morimoto 2Stroke 2.0s from The Retrofit Source in wife's Suburban earlier this year. I first installed them without anti-flickering units, but since they were hit and miss being on, I decided to order also them. I also got another pair of 2.0s LEDs from TRS in case there was something wrong with the first pair.

Installed the new bulbs as well as anti-flicker units and now the lights are much more stable, but still suffer from random on/off issue. Not all the time, but they still do. Drove the truck last night first time in a while in the dark and could see it happening every now and then. I have checked and verified each and every connection and everything is tight and properly connected and there are no broken wires etc. OEM halogen lights worked perfectly before I started the conversion.

WTH is there still for me to do? Other than go back to the damn dim OEM halogen setup, of course... Or go with some expensive full HID conversion or something. I'd really want the LEDs to work since I don't want my wife driving in the dark with flickering lights and maybe catch the attention of a po-po or something. Saving grace if the light go out is that I added LED fog lights with Gen5DIY harness so that they are on all the time with the headlights, so at least she isn't without any lights when the flicker happens.

Any and all ideas/comments are welcome.
I've had several issues with LEDs over the years, the most irritating being flickering caused by the bulbs themselves. I finally figured it out when I had a bulb plugged in but not in the headlight housing. I fumbled it, it flickered. Something between the LED and the plug was loose inside.

i agree, any issue i have had has been long removed after a quick check, re-grease of the plug and reinstall...until several thousands of miles of vibration loosen the connection again

Update to close this episode.

Kudos to TRS for excellent service and warranty fulfillment. As I mentioned above, FedEx lost the original warranty replacement shipment. We both filed complaint with FedEx, but of course they denied. Whe FedEx was "investigating" the issue, TRS sent another pair, this time via UPS and they arrived safe and sound in three days.

Finally got around to installing them last weekend and all systems are a go. At least for now. Drove around and hour or so both on Sunday and last night and no more flickering, so I guess I just got bulbs from a bad batch or something.

With the Gen5DIY fog light retrofit harness (fogs on all the time with low beams) and Morimotos also in the fogs, that thing sure will be seen and you can see much better than before. LOL! I'm happy and pretty sure my wife is too now that she can see.

The lost ones are probably in the woods with the other Fedex boxes that were tossed there, they denied the claim,"unreal".

Yup. FedEx pretty much told me to go pound sand and said it’s my fault since I didn’t pay for signature confirmation and since the tracking info says it was delivered, they’re out. :flame:

I do have to say that for me this was actually the first time any shipment has been completely lost over the years and years ofmbuying stuff, so I guess it was bound to happen. But kudos to TRS for taking care of me.

Is this picture just your lows and fogs?

If so, this output looks great! I would even say better than my OEM HID's in my '15 Yukon Denali XL even with OSRAM CBI bulbs.

I've been looking into a retrofit or at minimum a projector swap/upgrade to my OEM headlights. The output is terrible...
