Flowmaster will drone like crazy.

Consider a small-case (14" long) Magnaflow or Black Widow in 300 or 250 series. These mufflers offer lots of tone but minimal drone.

I have a flowmaster 50 series delta with zero drone at all. The 40`s and smaller is where you will have drone. I can be doing 80 mph with the radio on and still have a conversation with someone in the back seat without raising my voice.

I guess you're not a fan of flowmaster!

Oh God no! :hahano: It seems like that's the only muffler brand anyone has ever heard of. Like 80% of all people advising a muffler say "FLOWMASTER!"
Please ignore the "experts" That claim flowmasters are restrictive. Do they make as much horsepower as a flow through design like magnaflow? They don`t but in this dyno muffler comparison test the numbers are very close between all of them and the flowmaster they tested was a 50 series suv muffler. If they tested a 40 series the numbers would have been closer.

The four horsepower difference in the test is on a mildly built engine and on a low performance truck like ours it may be less and you would never feel any difference, Just go with what sound you like. And like mizzouguy said go with stainless.

I wish people would educate themselves before spewing ********.

Coming from owning a Camaro, Flowmaster was the most hated brand for it's restriction. So, my post was not really ********. I normally keep a pic on my phone that I post everytime someone recommends Flowmaster. Every muffler is going to flow differently between different vehicle models and even two of the same model. You and your buddy might get the same muffler, but show different numbers on the dyno. Ofcourse it IS true that some of their mufflers flow better than others, and Fleetgeo opted for the Super 10 (which from my understanding is a race style muffler). As far as flow, he shouldn't have issues with flow on this one. I just don't care for them. Most of them do sound great, but I just don't take them seriously as a performance muffler.

Fleetgeo, that's cool. I understand it then. I just feel, a classier vehicle deserves a classier muffler. That Corsa definitely fit bill! As would Borla, Magnaflow, and some of the other stainless systems.

+1 on the drone. When I saw his muffler choice in his Amazon shopping cart post. It IS the only Flowmaster muffler that I would consider. The drone wouldn't bother me. I used to run an open cutout on my Camaro for a long time! :hahano::happy107:

Flowmaster American Thunder dual exit. Sounds good through out the entire from range. At highway speeds at 2k-ish I can hold a convo with the radio on, or off, no nissue. Maybe not someone in the 3rd row. It wakes when you get in it, but sounds good through town. I can't complain about it. It's not "loud" but not factory "quiet" either . 5.3 here. I did replace the tips. 3"is too small on these trucks. 4" on mine. Looking for 5" tips currently. ede4d0ecc7cdb2c0171628b5f28f774b.jpg

I have the 50 series Big Block on my 07 6.2l Yukon Denali Xl w/BB Tune, CAI, stock 3.5" piping and resonator, sounds nice w/great low tone if your looking for a little more sound. My Yukon is 5,800 lbs so I am not gonna bicker and complain over 3-7hp difference In something too heavy to really contend with something smaller and lighter so I went for a specific tone I wanted from my exhaust on a daily basis.

here is the sound clip
