I am looking at the Flowmaster 17419 - Flowmaster American Thunder Exhaust System. This is the one with dual rear pipes. It says that it will not work on a Z71. I called Flowmaster to ask them if this was just on 4x4 models or are the 2x4's effected as well. They said it that the problem was the rear cladding on the Z71 body package. I noticed a slight cut out on the pass side, but it doesn’t seem to be enough to cause a problem on the driver’s side.

Has anyone installed this exhaust on a Z71? I would like to have the dual pipes. If it won’t work I will probably just swap mufflers.

I have that catback on my yukon but mine isn`t a Z71 and i`m not sure what the body looks like but you can adjust the tailpipes down at an angle to clear the body instead of straight out like the stock tailpipe.

Can you post a picture of your truck? I`ll be able to tell if it can work if i see it.

I will try to get on taken tonight. How do you like the exhaust? I have used their cat back on two other vehicles and really liked it.

I love it, The only thing i changed was the chrome tips that come with the kit to 4 inch slash cut stainless tips.

I don`t think you`ll have a problem with fitting those tails on there.

Here`s a picture of mine and there`s plenty of room the way i have them angled down.

The only time i hear a drone is when i`m towing my trailer fully loaded while going up a steep grade.

When not towing, I get zero drone. When cruising on the highway at any speed i could easily hold a conversation with someone in the back seat without yelling.
