Did you scrape the old labels off or just put the new over the damaged ones?

I put the stickers over it. At night it doesn’t look great but it wasn’t a big deal to me.

If there is a lot of wear on the original buttons, you can scrape them clean so the blemish doesn't bleed through at night.

Mine weren't so bad, we put the stickers right on top and they've been on almost 8 years now.

my preference was to replace the control, didn't like the look of the stickers, a new one does have to be programmed (or should be programmed) for proper operation
in my case it made the rear only make heat if it was set to 90, put it on 89 and it would go cold, programming fixed it.
What years need to be programmed? I replaced my manual controls on my 2011 and they seem to work properly.

I am not sure the same control is used in multiple vehicles so it could depend on what it was programmed for out of the box or what vehicle it came out of if used.
mine was looking a 3rd headliner environmental sensor that my vehicle did not have (causing a error).
I spent a good amount of time troubleshooting what was causing the problem and in the end it was the calibration file on the controller not being set for my vin

I just put stickers over mine. they look fine in the day and little dark at night, but no issues for me.

I noticed the recirculate sticker is wearing out haha. gotta find where I put the 2nd set that came in the pack. wife hits it every time she gets in. this truck sucks in more outside smells than any other thing I've driven and acts like being in recirculate is a crime. I can tell when the Ford truck 3 cars ahead on the highway is missing and fouled the cats haha.

I have one in it, it's they only stop debris not really fumes?

it's funny, we got a 3d printer to play with and the kid wanted a air vent propeller thingy. clips in the vent and spins with air. as you speed up to highway speeds you can see it start spinning from the extra air coming in. The recirculate flap seems to move correctly, and it is worse when not in recirculate. but it's kinda wild haha. never noticed it in any other car.

I'm just scatter shooting here, but maybe a blast of Lysol or some scented spray at the air intake?
