Are you guys replacing the gaskets or the entire fuel pump? How can you tell if the pump is out?

I put some black light sensitive die in my coolant and low and behold, I have a leak below the pump.

So I'm wondering do I chance it and just replace the gaskets, or do I buy a hi-flow water pump?

id buy the stock replacement pump... if your motor is all stock and not super crazy i wouldnt think there would be a need to run a high flow pump. Unless its cheaper then the stock pump...

But you have to ask your self this... well I am taking the pump off to change out the gasket.. so i guess since its all aprt should i do the pump? is it getting to close to bein needed to replace?

i would change it, its all out... and then you dont have to worry about a new pump for a while...

Thanks for the input, anyone else who ran into this have any comments or experiences?

I tend to agree with solo, I think it's likely that the gaskets are worn, but might as well replace the pump itself...I don't know much about the actual pumps though, are they build to last forever or what?

With all the mods, and money spent on your truck.
You shouldn't try to be on the CHEAP on something as vital as a water pump, Don't you thing?. :Nonono:

I had this at 98K miles in my 2003 Sierra and at 55K miles in my 2005 Tahoe. Replaced the pump in both cases. No regrets.
