I Have an 04 Yukon XL with a 5.3L. The front A/C only gets cold after driving, but when you aren't moving it gets really warm. The rear A/C blows super cold non stop though. I've verified the blend doors work properly and the R-134a has proper pressure. Is there a solenoid or some kind of valve that seperates the systems that could be faulty? What could be wrong that would let one system work great, but not the other?

Let me know if you find out what it is. I figure it can't be the compressor, since the rear works so well...but idk. A/C systems have never been my area lol

If it'll help, I'm down... I just want to get technical evidence it'll work before I go through all the trouble. Especially since the rear keeps blowing hella cold. Too bad it's not easy to test first without spending the time and money.

Thanks!

Your evap could need replacing. It happened to another car of mine and I ended up needing a system charge and new evap.

I was thinking about having the system evacuated and recharged to see if that helps. I really don't wanna deal with changing the evap right now, it's almost winter...I'll wait till next summer if it comes to that.

Sorry to bump such an old post, but being it's getting warm out there I'm sure I'm not the only one with this issue. I have having the exact same issue ad the OP. The front blows colder when driving but gets warmer when at idle. The rear is ice cold all the time. Any suggestions?

This is an 06 Denali XL BTW.
