So its been about two months since I drove my 05 YD and yesterday when I went to drive it the front ac was blowing but not cold so i turn the rear ac on and it was blowing cold as hell. Has anyone gone thru this issue before, what could have broken?

Electric fans will not resolve your issue. If the rear is cold then the fan and clutch are working properly because there is only one condenser for the dual system.

Since the rear is working properly that means there is sufficient refrigerant in the system. Your condenser is getting proper flow and air. Your rear evaporator is the same.

So either it is a refrigerant flow issue in the front, an air flow issue in the front (for example your Cabin air filter is clogged) a mechanical failure such as a blend door failure.

I would start by checking the cabin air filter just because it's the easiest. Then report back.

@ivin74 just realized you have an 05 and I do believe cabin air filters were not an option after 03/04? But I may be wrong? If that's obviously the case then that's ruled out.

Now you're throwin in more details that are important. So high rpm it blows cold. As in high rpm at idle or higher rpm while driving down the road? Anything else that you have notice?

M1Gunner, you are correct I don't have a cabin filter, I'm going to take it to the shop to get the AC checked as soon as i get it back on the road, Right now i'm installing a drop kit and is out of comission

Hello I understand this is an old post.
2004 Yukon XL 1500, auto climate control.
But I am fighting similar issues. Rear ac blows very cold. Front, more so drivers side, vents blow just air it seems while in ideal. Once I begin to drive, they blow "cooler" air, you can tell the ac is trying.. but the passenger side seems to be just a bit cooler. It seems I can only get the front to blow cooler air when the rear is on. I've turned it off just to see what the front does, seems to stay decently cool. Slowing down it gets warmer again.
Driver side use to be screaming hot! So I replaced the temperature mode actuator, the one closest to the floor towards middle. Once that was replaced, no more super hot air. I've also removed it and open and closed it manually and it still seems hot air is mixing with the cold.
Haven't done anything with the condenser or the evaporator.
Both hard to get to. Haven't replaced the other 2 actuators.
And the accumulator is obviously working properly.
I've replaced the climate control module, unfortunately it's not an OEM.. apparently those are hard to come by. But it seems to work. The factory one was glitching bad! I've done the pull fuse, let sit, let recalibrate/relearn several times. It honestly seemed to work a little. I've checked the freon levels, doesn't need anymore.
Helps is much appreciated.

How old is the compressor? Have you tested the system for leaks? If the compressor is new or in good shape, the next item I would replace would be the accumulator.

Alot of times the accumulator gets overlooked and that's the culprit .
