your biggest impediment to MPG is your foot. that little piece of trim isn't going to change anything. too see any discernable difference you would have to hook the vehicle up to a computer on a treadmill in a wind tunnel and hit record. then you could see the microsm's of wind resistance from the small piece of plastic with no other interference of things like suspension movement or road dynamics, turns, etc.
"supposedly" it has more to do with vehicle cooling versus mpg, but no one has ever reported a cooling issue from removing it.

Only difference I noticed without the little spoiler is that over 120 mph, the nose gets a little light. Otherwise, negligible MPG change.
even at 145 the nose does not feel lighter to me anyway, the front may lift a little on hard acceleration but that's normal for pretty much anything unless you have taken measures to prevent it. the front is the heaviest part by a lot even with a full tank of gas
