Hey guys, forum noob here, I'm wondering why the front bumper on my '04 Z71 Hoe is lower on the passenger side than on the driver side? I guess what I'm saying is there is a larger space between the bumper and fender on the passenger side, it's very noticeable when looking head on at my truck. Is there something I can do to fix this?

I've searched high and low on here and on google but couldn't find a definite answer/solution to this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys...

It should be the same on both sides. Have you owned it since new? If not, maybe the previous owner had a minor accident. There are some bumper braces on each side in front of the wheels that you could loosen and try to adjust.

I bought it used from a large dealership last year, according to the carfax report it was never involved in an accident, but who knows. The brackets on the side I've checked out, and it doesn't seem like I can get any more height adjustment on that side. Thanks for the quick response...

Where is the gap bigger? The tube type brackets on the backside do have alot if movement in them if they are loosened up.

It doesn't take much of a hit to knock these bumpers out of alignment

If you can find a solid part of the bumper, you can loosen that side and gently use a floor jack to raise it and then tighten and lower jack. Btw, nice looking rig, post some more pics.

It's worth a try but since it's bent down so close to the center it seems like the bumper bracket on the frame horn is bent.

The bumper gap is a common problem on the GMT800 trucks. Some are worse than others from the factory.

Before I bought my Tahoe the previous owner rear ended someone at less than 5 mph. It was fast enough to put a dent in the front chrome piece in the bumper and bend the bumper down.

I called up one of those bumper dent services and the guy came out to my house. Took the bumper off, got most of the dent out and reinstalled the bumper. He used a big hydraulic jack (I've never seen one like he used before) and re-bent the bumper brackets on each side so the gap is back to factory (or even better than factory).

I think he charged me $75 (he worked on the bumper for over an hour). I was so happy I gave him a tip. Well worth the money, IMO.

He said of all the cars and trucks he does, the bumper gap on the GMT800 trucks is one of his biggest complaints from customers.
