Front Bumper is nasty

Hello All,
So I just bought a 2004 Tahoe Z71. She is a little rough but I am working on it. I had some questions about the front bumper. I have also linked in some pictures. Here, Here, and Here

Currently my front bumper looks like its on its way out. It has been taped and sprayed the factory color and is rusting in other spots. I am fine wih the painted section on top of the bumper, but the lower section between the fog lights and the top cover is nasty!

I see replacements for sale on ebay but I am unsure how difficult it is to replace. Also, since mine is a Z71 the bumper is painted. Could I order a chrome one and just skip the painted bumper - if so, any part numbers or years/model cross over that would fit?

Yes any bumper from any tahoe 00-06 will fit, chrome or painted
If I remember there's only 6 bolts holding it on. Very easy to get to and straight forward. Can take it off and reinstall the new one in less than an hour, probably half that with help.
The top piece is just clipped on. The bottom piece is held on using clips.

yes any bumper will fit but with yours being a z71 you have the fender flairs. if I am not mistaken your top bumper pad will haft to be off a vehicle with flairs as well. for some reason I think they come out a little farther to line up on these trucks. I don't have a Tahoe this body style and it has been awhile sense ive worked on one but that is something to look into

Thanks for the advice and the information on the pictures. I am hoping it will work, I ordered one today after talking with some guys at the local shop, they think should be fine. We shall see now:-/

yeah I don't think you will have any problems out of that bumper you linked as long as u can use your top pad the bumper should bolt right up

That is my hope. Mine is just rotten, and I like the look of the chrome. I will keep you guys posted. Right now I am pulling the climate control cluster and the main cluster and sending them off to have the bulbs replaced and rebuilt. I need to get a good stereo next, mine will not play CDs at all.

Lots of threads on here with guys doing touch screen double dins.
