It does help control the mass of the larger wheels. It makes the steering smoother also. I wish there was a way to make the steering more stiff like a sports car. Our mini cooper has a sport button that makes the power steering feel like manual rack style for better corner feel.

new to this forum just joined today and i was kinda chasing the same problem on my 2005 Tahoe LT 5.3L 4x4.. so i damn near changed my whole suspension. and went to the dealer had them align to spec camber caster and toe. since i changed brakes and rotors the whole way around both inner and outter tie rods sway bar and bushing both upper and lower control arms and axles with wheel hubs..
Steering got tighter but on the parkway at any speed above 60 it starts to feel unstable, so i took it back to the dealer and did a road force balance.. still feels the same.. also if i am turning into a parking spot feels like my wheel is twisting and wobbling and the ABS light comes on but turns off when the truck is turned off.... its hard to explain but only when making a tight turn in and out of parking spaces.. lifted the truck up again shook everything down, no play or movement.. also changed rear springs and sway bar and links and shock and struts whole way around... included is a parts list only thing not on that list is the shock and struts and front sway bar as i got them from summit and autozone.. this is getting real frustrating mileage is currently at 155k... try tightening the torsion bar cross member to 70ft lbs. It made a difference on mine. All 4 bolts were not torqued to spec. road that used to feel real choppy and bumpy are smooth now. its like the suspension works again and stopped transmitting vibration to the steering wheel.

about 5" drop
22" wheels
170k miles and unknown maintenance history

Here is my issue. I have vibration that starts rough about 70 and then continues but lessens at higher speeds. I've had my wheels balanced 3 times in the last month ( my kid works at discount tire) and rotated them to see if the vibration moves. I've checked for the common slop/wear and although I can't see anything I've started replacing the known items because of the milage. The vibration use to start at 65 but I replaced the tie rods and the speed it starts went up. I've replaced the pitman and idler arms. I have new upper arms with ball joints and lower ball joints both not installed yet. I'm wondering if anyone has seen the vibration come from somewhere else like the front drive shaft, cv shafts, or ..? I know the center link lends to the front end moving around a bit and there is a kit out there to stabilize it. Just not sure if that's the issue

Any advice would help

Replace your ball joints and the bushings. If you plan on doing this yourself, purchase new upper and lower control arms. It will be easier to replace your self. On the lower control arms, you will need a come-along to pull the lower arms in place. I figured this out the hard way and once I learned to use the come-along, it was quite simple to install the lower control arms. Hope this helps.

He said he has already done that.

I decided to order one, figured it might make steering a bit better with my 26's . For around $50 it's a cheap upgrade. Thanks for the help.

I had the same issue with my Tahoe and I rebuilt my entire front end, and it rides like new now.
