Hello all ! If anyone can tell me anything here would appreciate it !! Ive got an 01 tahoe police 4x4. Im having some issues driver front tire just on the very inner edge worn right down to the band both fronts ( other than that one spot ) are at 25% both rears are at 50%. So now before i put new rubber on and it gets chewed up too, I gotta figure this out. Another issue could be related it pulls to one side. It started to pull about 1.5 years ago slightly , all the way up until today gradually worse until its now a crazy pull like Im driving straight and the wheel is turned 1/4 way around!

Could be a brake lock up on the pull thing but i don't know for sure. Wondering if the two are related (tire chewed to band and pull to right) . An allignmet front end was done 3 years ago when rubber was brand new and I cranked my front end down ( which is bad I know ) a inch or so to level out the drop springs. Wanted to mention it incase the tire wear is cause by that but like say i got it aligned right after i cranked it down.

You need to have a front end inspection done, otherwise your just guessing could be a combination of things.

You're likely due for at least ball joint replacements now, especially if the pull has gotten worse. Inner tire wear indicates at least too much negative camber. It sounds like you may have some toe issues, too. You don't say how many miles those tires have on them, or how many miles the truck has, but I'd bet you're due.

We have about 120K on our Tahoe, and it's on the list for a front end rebuild during our off time around Christmas.

Edge wear on the tires is due to toe being out of spec and at that age would mean outer tie rods at minimum. The pull could be camber being out, could be a radial pull from a bad tire.

Like Wes said, have it checked out and at nineteen years old, be not surprised if the front suspension AND steering components all need replacing.

Ok . Thanks everyone truck has 130000 miles on it I bought it 10 years ago it had 90000. I never used to drive it much at all except for a few road trips. But now the last 3 years I've dailyed it. Ball joints were done closer to when I first got it so they have 20000 miles on them. Thats crazy alignments need to be done so frequently there not cheap ! But Im leaning towards that being my problem..

Something has worn out. An alignment won't go out on its own, not that badly.

Ok thanks . Ya given its age there has to be some stuff worn out I'm sure the changed geometry from me cracking the front down didn't help either. Although cranking up a lot, I have to say is definatley worse for wearing stuff out like my last truck was..

You only put 40k on the truck in 10 years!?

Also alignments aren't expensive - Big O tires does 90-day guarantee alignments for $70

Ya i bought it it was white with police stripes and around that same time someone owed me for a job and offered all these parts from an Escalade. Didnt plan on it ending up looking like that but just had all these parts that fit. Dont like dailying it if I can help it cause it draws to much attention. Last two years my infinitis had trans issues so ive dailyed it
