I saw there was a heater issue down below, but I think mine is a little different.

I have a 2001 Tahoe LT with the automatic climate control, and it seems that the heat controls in the front are not working. The separate controls for the back get it nice and toasty, however this morning I could not get my defrosters to heat the windshield at all. I tried the other location settings as well with no luck on head in the front seats.

Is it a bad module, bad "doors" as mentioned in the other post?

Thanks!

Similar Issues on an '02 Hoe

2002 Tahoe LT. I am having issues where the heater will sometimes blow hot air, and other times it won't. When it doesn't blow hot air, I can turn the heat to "Max Heat" and I will get very hot air. I'm not sure how to go about fixing this. If it's an actuator door, then why does it work on "max heat" and not on anything up to max? And why does it work sometimes and not others?

I also need to replace the blower motor in the front as the past few winters, on ultra cold days, the blower makes an awful screeching noise when I turn it on. I think I found a video online on how to replace it. I doubt this has anything to do with my heater issue, as the air blows just fine. Any advice would be appreciated!

After doing a little more research, I found a video that could be my issue. It doesn't look like the '02 uses a vacuum line for it's air temp control. And the fact that I'm getting either super hot, or super cold is leading me to either the actuator being jacked up, or (and I really hope not) the switch being bad.

One thing I failed to mention above, over the summer, I was on a long drive (7+ hour) and had the AC running the whole time. Near the end of the trip, the AC started to blow semi warm air. This is (again) leading me to believe that it's the temp control switch that's going bad. Since the actuators are "cheap" I think I'll get a new blower motor and actuator. Opinions?

Here is the video I found:

Quick help needed. I am looking for instructions on how to remove the front half of the center console. I don't have the bench seating so I have an extra step. I can't find any info on how to do that.

Thanks!
